Powerball is a multi-state lottery game operated in the United States by the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL). MUSL is a non-profit organization formed by an agreement between US lottery commissions. $768.4 Million - The 2019 Jackpot
This million-dollar jackpot was won on March 27, 2019, by a single ticket in Wisconsin. Before, tax deductions, the winner will have a choice between a one-time lump sum of $477 million or an estimated annuity of $768.4 million paid out over 29 years. Nine other lottery tickets too scored $1 or $2 Million as they picked the other winning numbers except for the Powerball.
$758.7 Million - The 2017 Jackpot
This winning amount was the largest to be claimed on a single ticket on August 23, 2017. This hefty amounted ticket was sold in Chicopee, Massachusetts to Mavis Wanczyk.
$687.8 Million - The 2018 Jackpot
There were two winning tickets to this game, Lowa and New York respectively. The win was announced on Oct. 27, 2018. Robert Bailey of New York City claimed half of the winnings and stated, he will continue to play the lottery, “until this train runs out”.
The Lowa ticket was won by Lerynne West of Redfield, whose family established a foundation for charity. She wished to buy a car and go for a long vacation after her retirement.
$590.5 Million - The 2013 Jackpot
Gloria Mackenzie is the winner of this million-dollar club. The winning ticket sold in Florida was claimed to win on May 18, 2013. To this date, this was the biggest Jackpot in American history to be won by one person only. She chose the lump-sum or one-time cash option as the mode of payoff. Gloria received a payment of about $370 million before the taxes.
$587.5 Million - The 2012 Jackpot
The two winning tickets to this big game of that time were sold Arizona and Missouri. Matched all the six winning numbers to hit the record jackpot of $587.5 million. The winnings were divided between the couple Mark and Cindy Hill and Matthew Good who chose to remain anonymous for a much longer time.
$564.1 Million - The 2015 Jackpot
On Feb 11, 2015, three winners claimed to this winning Jackpot amount. The winning tickets for this jackpot were sold in Texas, North Carolina, and Puerto Rico. A Single mother Marie Holmes of Shallotte, N.C. won one-third of $564.1 million, while others remain anonymous.
